      Automatic

Stop worrying about gears: I can help you to gain a full UK driving licence for automatic cars.

With an automatic you don't need to change gear or 'find the bite' and you can't stall!

Take your lessons in a Mercedes C Class saloon. It's an easy car to drive - even for smaller ladies - and especially good for the manoeuvres.

I am experienced at teaching people with disabilities I can provide tuition for you in your own adapted car.

           Manual

Alternatively, learn to drive in a VW Golf 1.9 TDI SE with ESP and cruise control.

Two or three hour lessons

A two hour lesson has been proven to be of greater benefit than two one hour lessons , when learning to drive.

Two hour lessons are also cost-effective, giving a considerable saving per hour against the price of one hour lessons.

Or why not take half day sessions? (3 hours driving plus a half hour break). These are excellent for test preparation.

Intensive courses

Also popular are 1 to 5 day courses, either as a 'quick-start' programme or for final preparation for the test.

Each day is based on three sessions (one of 2 hours and two 1.5 hours sessions) with a breaks for coffee and lunch. This is structured to fit during the school day, if necessary, for busy parents.

Pass Plus

Reduce your insurance premium, usually by more than the cost of the course AND develop some essential post-test skills.

How? Take six hours of Pass Plus training in City Driving, Rural Roads, All Weather and Night Driving, Dual Carriageways and Motorways.

Sessions can be two or three hours or the course may be taken in a day. You can even arrange to share sessions with a friend.

Extensive experience with advanced and post test training makes this one of the best Pass Plus courses around.

What do Sara's customers say?
  • 'I passed first time two days before my 42nd birthday. I would never have got through it without Sara - she was amazing.' - Tracie Kirby, Northfield.

  • 'Asking Sara to teach me was the best decision I ever made. She taught me to really drive, not just to pass the test - I was really nervous but she gave me the

confidence to pass first time.' - Vicky Cummins, Bromsgrove.

  • 'I am a 53 year old lady with mobility problems and I'm extremely nervous. I found Sara to be an excellent instructor in the way she eased me into driving and helped me through the nervousness. I passed first time with Sara and have no hesitation in recommending her.' - Lesley Swain, King's Norton.

  • 'I tried several instructors before Sara and none of them were able to deliver the passion and intelligence towards driving that Sara brought to each lesson. I passed first time. Sara is a patient instructor who listens to the individual's needs and develops an understanding of their personality and learning style, enabling her to explain things in ways that suit you. This ensures that each lesson is invaluable with no time wasted. Sara wants her pupils to pass as soon as possible so if you're completely committed to learning how to drive and to passing your test, I strongly recommend Sara Hickie.' - Jon Marshall, BBC Researcher, Birmingham.

A thought ...
Q: Why is finding a good driving instructor like finding the perfect pair of jeans?

A: The right one will 'fit' you well and make you feel good about yourself.

Q: Why is shopping for the right instructor different from shopping for the perfect jeans?

A: Fashions come and go - it's not always worth paying a lot for something that will soon look dated -
but SAFE and SKILLFUL driving NEVER goes out of fashion and a really good instructor is ALWAYS an investment piece!
